It’s sad how some of the new kpop fans do not know JYJ even though DBSK played such a big role in expanding Kpop’s international reach.

Song Ji Hyo appears in their first MV, In Heaven, a sad and touching song. Song Ji Hyo is currently in-and-out of the hospital due to exhaustion and breathing problems :(and I hope she recovers soon and return to us as one part of the Monday Couple:)

From the earlier episodes they were always funny and cute but it’s only recently that I have come to truly be their shipper.

Alot of fans are wishing that they are real and I have to admit that I’m one of them. I don’t think there is enough evidence to show that they are together in real life… but I do think there is some level of attraction and naturalness between them.. so who knows? Nothing is impossible XD

In other news, I just came back from Hong Kong and am considering doing a haul post… it really was a shopping paradise! AND I will be going for the F1 practice round this Friday cause BIG BANG will be there!!! WOOT WOOT

Now as some of you might know, my bias was Jonghyun since last year… but after the concert I have a feeling it has changed. I can’t really decide who my current bias is yet cause my mind is still all fuzzy.

I’m just going to briefly summarize what I personally thought about the members after the concert…

Onew: The most normal sized one out of the group. His voice was good especially during his solo. He didn’t really interest me until the end when he decided acting all dorky by putting a laundry basket over his head. I noticed that he got tired the fastest too…

Jonghyun: Powerful vocals. Really good a changing tones. His high notes are amazing! As the lead singer, he got to do a lot of cool stuff, like shooting fire effects from his hands and getting to be the centre of attention. He looks pretty much the same in real life as on TV.

Taemin: Super skinny and super pretty. He even wore a long blonde wig and dressed as a girl. My noona heart was on the verge of stopping. His singing really improved:)

Key: The most charismatic and friendly on stage. Gave the most fan service and I must say that he is indeed born to entertain. You can never get bored by him.

Minho: OK, this hit me by surprise… I mean ever since Minho cut his hair short last year.. I had to admit he was good looking… but after seeing his live, I conclude that pictures do him no justice. He shines and is just sooo good looking in person that I was stunned. After seeing a number of Kpop stars over the years… I must say that he is one of the best looking ones out there. He was my least favorite member before but now…. I am in the process of reconsidering… although I can hardly hear what he is rapping and dun really fancy his personality… his face is really WOW. Oh and his legs are really skinny…. and I didn’t need to see him strip…

Anyway… I really miss them! Please come again SHINee!!!

I love the art work but the school scares me! All the girls in the school seem to be horny 24/7 and trying to rape the boys. I took a break after reading 7 chapters because I wasn’t really feeling the plot. Fake marriage ceremony? I don’t find that romantic or cool. I just wanna know which guy the female lead ends up with! Mizutani or Akamaru???

While the manga is classified as smut, in the first 7 chapters, other than the overall theme I don’t think the scenes are too mature. Would I continue to read this? I’m undecided. The english scans are pretty slow though so maybe I will skip to the end once volume 12 is done in chinese.

This is one of favorite mangas, and one that I’ve reread a few times:) To me the artwork isn’t the greatest but it is still captivating! I love the main girl Nika. She’s really hilarious and amusing to read about. The male lead Arata is a kinda aloof and cold at first but later on he becomes boyfriend material. The manga itself made me laugh many times. The situations that Nika gets into are entertaining and she is no pushover! I love how honest the two leads are with each other and how they accept each other’s peculiar habits.

I’ve read all the english scans and around chapter 35 for the chinese scans. It gets a little slow around chapter 30 so I’m hoping it gets back its entertainment factor soon!

This manga is pretty good and rather addictive. The main guy is hot (in a manga way) and the plot is a romance story favorite (forced/arranged marriage that develops into true love). Some complains though, I don’t really like the main girl, Chiwa. Her way of thinking annoys me! It isn’t so bad at the start but it progressively gets worse. She likes to assume and play ‘heroine’. Now about the main guy, Hokuto. He’s too controlling for my taste. Sure he’s hot and rich with a troubled past which normally equals my bias BUT he’s personality irks me at times! That’s why I can’t place him in my favorite anime/manga guy list. One last complain, I know this is a smut manga… and in most, the guy is really forceful and aggressive while the girl’s all shy and innocent. While Hokuto doesn’t rape her (which I appreciate cause I hate authors using rape in plots!), she is too innocent for my liking. I like that she is saving herself for mutual love but some stuff that she doesn’t know or understand just annoys me! I much prefer Switch Girl!!’s Nika approach. She isn’t easy but that doesn’t mean she has to be all naive.

I’ve just finished reading chapter 17 and will probably continue it in the future, although if Chiwa continues to annoy me I might consider dropping it.

An added bonus for this manga is that both the english and chinese scans are released pretty fast and are not too far behind the Japanese release!

And one more thing! Lee Minho and Park MinYoung from the drama City Hunter have confirmed that they are dating! Whee!!!!!!!!! Finally I can recover from Hyun Bin’s & Song Hye Gyo’s breakup.

It was good!! I’m now craving Jjajangmyun, wanting to try Korean rice wine and a fan of Oh Ji Ho. I actually tried watching this drama a few years back and I guess it just wasn’t the right time cause I couldn’t get through the first episode, but this time I marathon through it. Overall the show is pretty hilarious although the last few episodes did make me cry. No worries though! It’s a happy ending!

The Princess Man

I’m usually cautious of Sageuks because they tend to be long, heavy and full of politics.. but this one sounded interesting and the main couple looks good together so I decided to give it a try. So far I’ve completed two episodes, and while it is still early to determine if I will love it, from what I’ve seen so far, it has managed to capture my attention and I will be watching more:) Moon Chae Won is sooo pretty in here! And of course everyone loves Park Shi Hoo!

Warrior Baek Dong Soo

Another Sageuk! Reason for watching this: Yoo Seung Ho as an assassin! I’ve only watched the first episode and he hasn’t appeared yet… the reviews for this drama is pretty good but I’m still deciding whether to continue this….

Scent of a Woman

When I heard that this was Lee Dong Wook’s comeback drama (He just got out of army), I was pretty excited cause for me he’s the original ‘oppa’. However, when I read the synopsis, I was skeptical cause of the terminal illness part.. cause I hate sad endings… no matter how hot the actors are or how touching the story is (I’m Sorry I Love You- ruined me for any sad shows). So it’s with a heavy heart that I’m going to start this drama… you might wonder why I torture myself, and I’m wondering the exact same thing. Maybe it’s because from pictures the drama just looks sooo pretty and of course there is that after-army shower scene…. I’m so going to ruin myself again. Perhaps there is someway to write in a happy ending?? Please?

Protect the Boss

Just started yesterday! I will be watching the first episode to see if it catches my attention! Jaejoong is in it sooo YAY. Although I’m not sure I will like his character…

Other shows that I’m watching or had watched but forgot to mention in my earlier posts are: City Hunter & Baby-Faced Beauty. They belonged to the May list which just had sooo many good dramas to watch that I regrettably didn’t post about them.

City Hunter

The story takes place in Seoul, 2011. Lee Yoon Sung (Lee Min Ho) is a talented MIT-graduate who works on the international communications team in the Blue House. He plans revenge on five politicians who caused his father’s death with his surrogate father Lee Jin Pyo and eventually becomes a “City Hunter.”

I wasn’t expecting City Hunter to be SOOO AWESOME but just watched for Lee Min Ho who I must say is GORGEOUS in it. Park Min Young from SKK is in it as well and I must say, this girl must have saved a country in her previous life because she got to act with Park YooCchun, Song Joong Ki, Yoo Ah In, BIGBANG & now Lee Min Ho! Anyways, I have not finished it but I definitely will set time aside to complete it!

Baby-Faced Beauty

The story of Lee So Young (Jang Na Ra), a 34-year-old woman who’s saddled with family debt and only has a high school qualifications, but dreams of becoming a fashion designer. Baby-Faced Beauty has Jang Na Ra and Daniel Choi (who is such a cute dork!) The first half got me hooked but I have to admit I grew a little bored of the conflicts in the middle… I might complete it in the future..

I was a pretty new fan when I first started liking them in 2008. I literally cramped 10 years of information, videos, songs etc in 6 months! It was nothing though compared to fans who have been with them since debut, andy’s absence, the split from SM, etc. They were the first Korean band that I liked and it was them that introduced me to Kpop. Before them, I was only 1/4 into the whole Hallyu thing and because of them, I jumped right into it.

TRUE BLOOD (Season1-4)

Reasons why I am in love with this show: It’s sexy, full of vamps, supernatural creatures, not kiddy (unlike some), dynamic and of course Eric (Alexander Skarsgård). I could just watch this show over and over for him, especially the current season (4) where he shows a different side!

You’ve Fallen For Me/ Heartstrings

Lee Shin is a university student majoring in modern music. He is also the vocalist and guitarist of the band “The Stupid.” Shin is known for his good looks and strong passion for music, but in reality he is cold, lacks interest in anything unrelated to music and has neither dreams nor plans for the future. He initially likes Jung Yoon Soo, a dance professor at university, but this all changes when he meets Lee Kyu Won.

Lee Kyu Won is a bright and outgoing student who was born into a prestigious family and is majoring in traditional Korean instruments, especially the gayageum. Kyu Won’s grandfather, Lee Dong Gun, is one of the top 3 traditional musicians of his age and his biggest wish is to see his granddaughter become a traditional music prodigy. Trying to live up to her grandfather’s expectations, Kyu Won immerses herself in training and becomes a university student who knows nothing outside of her studies. As her friends are fans of “The Stupid”, she was forced to go to the band’s concert with them. There she saw Lee Shin performing live, and is immediately captivated by him.

So far I’ve seen the first four episodes and I like the pace and the feel of it. It’s very much a college drama, focusing on the lives and dreams of the students with romance thrown in to spice things up. It’s nothing sensational but I enjoy watching it and listening to the music in it, which is the heart of the drama:)

Spy Myung Wol

An elite North Korean spy, Han Myung Wol, and her partner, Choi Ryu, infiltrates South Korea on a mission to disrupt the Hallyu Wave by kidnapping one of their top stars, Kang Woo. Despite her proficiency at her job, Myung Wol’s one weakness is her uncontrollable curiosity. Hijinks ensue when she falls in love with Kang Woo instead.

This reason why I watched the first episode of this drama is because of Eric (Shinhwa’s leader- my original Kpop boyband^^). I read reviews  that it was funny and entertaining however I was too distracted by the scenes filmed in Singapore because it isn’t very accurate. I don’t think people get mugged outside LV @ ion. I’m not giving up on the show though and will continue to watch it, maybe just not as up-to-date with the airings in Korea.
